Kevin Bethune
“Kevin arrived in GradID with a passion for human centered innovation. Kevin previously worked for Nike, Inc. facilitating improvements in corporate planning and footwear product creation. He managed to design shoes for the Jordan Brand in his spare time. Prior to Nike, Kevin worked in the nuclear power industry after graduating with a B.S.M.E. from the University of Notre Dame, and later received his M.B.A. from the Tepper School of Business at Carnegie Mellon.”

Hugo GiraltEchevarria
A passionate and optimistic designer, entrepreneur and manager, Hugo believes in inspiring others through meaningful human experiences linking the digital and physical worlds. His experience has evolved during the past 13 years from traditional marketing roles towards culture changing product development and design driven innovation projects in international organizations such as Unicef, Coca-Cola and Telefonica. As a social entrepreneur he has co-founded several social projects and is an active collaborator, speaker and teacher promoting social change.

Philip Keller
While teaching German at the high school level, Philip Keller had the opportunity to work part-time as a product designer. Due to his subsequent hire by the small upstart, Phil was able to experience end-to-end product development on a few of his designs. With roles ranging from ideation to sales, he opted to deepen his understanding of design through formal study. Philip Keller holds a BA in German and a BA in Art History from the University of Missouri, St. Louis and is currently pursuing a MS in Industrial Design at Art Center College of Design.

Jan Lienhard
Jan Lienhard was born and raised in Germany. He has always had an interest in Engineering and the Arts. Jan graduated with a BS degree in Industrial Design from Art Institute of Orange County. During his time there, he interned at Porsche Design Studio in Austria. After his Bachelor, Jan completed an Internship at BMW Designworks USA. Currently he is attending the GradID department to fine-tune his knowledge in technical skills, including business and technology.

Jasen Mehta
Jasen brings technical analysis together with creative synthesis; expressing science and engineering through form; utilizing products as enablers of our cultural values. While technology informs us on the realms of possibility, Jasen is developing into the designer who is asked to interpret what is desirable for our sustainable futures.

At Art Center College of Design, Jasen is working to conceive not only objects, but the scenarios and strategies that allow for their connection between environment, society, and industry.

Siddharth Vanchinathan
“Born in Bangalore and brought up around India, Siddharth is a multi disciplinary designer who is looking to simplify everyone’s lives. With a background in engineering, he has been working as a freelance graphic and interface designer since 2004. He switched his focus to Industrial Design in 2008 and has worked with various clients in government, banking, automotive, medical and tourism sectors in Asia. His first startup Locomi was sold in 2009.

Nina Viggi

I’m from Beijing, China. Yusun Choi
Yusun came to product design program at Art Center College of Design after her B.S. in statistics from Ewha W. Univ. in Seoul, Korea to pursue her career as an industrial designer. She worked as an intern and freelancer for Munchkin and Bamboo, Inc. after her B.S. in product design from Art Center. She also worked for Tabletops Unlimited, Corp. with the contract for cookware’s, and managed the representative office for a Korean company for its telecommunication outer-planning equipments market in U.S. Now, she is in Grad ID program to study more on product development planning and design strategy.

Fabrice Maurel
Fabrice Maurel’s background is visual effects and motion graphics. For the last decade Fabrice has designed and conceptualized some of the most memorable title sequences seen on television. As Creative Director, he has led creative teams to deliver cutting edge visual effects, design and branding strategies for television networks, TV shows, advertising campaigns, Movies and Music Videos. Fabrice has been awarded numerous national and international awards. He is a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences ( EMMY) and currently serves on its design Peer Group Executive Committee.

Alex Johnson
After graduating from RMIT in Melbourne Australia, Alex went on to work for the Melbourne Zoo, as a keeper and animal enrichment designer. She has also freelanced for such companies as Avon and Sephora, though her passion remains in designing for captive exotic and native wildlife. She continues this work today at the Wildlife Waystation, a rescue reserve in the Angeles National Forest, as their Enrichment Coordinator and designer for 44 chimpanzees and 20 small primates.

Sean Cardiff
Sean was raised in Calgary Canada, and at a young age he expressed interest in architecture and machinery. He graduated from Humber College in Toronto Canada in May 2009, where after four long years he earned his undergraduate degree in Industrial Design. Since being accepted to Art Center in September 2009 Sean’s development has gone beyond his undergraduate training in product and transportation design to a more strategic way of thinking.

Ruthy Kim

Koo Ho Shin
Koo is engrossed in experience design that involves interactive products and service systems. His design approaches also reflect his philosophy that wit can evoke better experience. With prior work experiences in television/radio broadcasting field in Korea, Koo holds a BFA (2007) in Industrial Design from Carnegie Mellon University with concentration in Communication Design. Intern experiences preceding his new chapter in Grad ID include Apple, where he researched for the development of future versions of the iWork Suite, and Smart Design, where he participated in designing lines of household merchandises for various clients.

Phil Liang
M.S. degree in Industrial Design at Art Center College of Design. His best work is his one-year-old daughter and he always tries to match his other works to that masterpiece. He believes that design is all about fun and he enjoys every moment. His next goal is to open his own design studio.

Refik Atatur
Refik was born and raised in Izmir, and graduated from METU Dept. of Industrial Design, Ankara. (They are all in Turkey, before you ask…)
He worked in many design projects including: lighting design, interior design and spatial installations as well as semi-military equipment, interface design and graphic design.
After working in all those teams, he decided to improve his career, by combining his creativity with design strategy and business knowledge. Currently he is working on that at Art Center.
