
Liliana Becerra is an art and design curator, best-selling author and design visionary, working on SOFT aesthetic experiences. Through her studio practice, she pioneers in the research, formulation, development and implementation of emotional aesthetics, merging emotive and sensory design with technology to create multidimensional and multisensorial experiences.
Through her Los Angeles-based studio practice founded in 2008, her team advises clients on detecting and articulating intangible and ever-changing notions of meaning, value and semantics, into aesthetic elements that can be touched, felt, seen and perceived as an overall experience. Her clients range from industries and include, Amazon, AT&T, Calty Toyota, Lenovo, Nestle, Simple Human, Sonos and Space X.
She is the Author of “SOFT Design, Aesthetic experience at the Intersection of Material, Technology and Interaction” published by Routledge in 2025, and the best-seller “CMF Design, The Fundamental Principles of Color, Material and Finish Design” Published by Frame in 2016. She is a contributor writer to influential design and architecture publications including Viewpoint Color and Viewpoint Design and Vitacora Urbano. She is also a curatorial writer of artist monographs and contemporary art exhibitions.
Liliana has over twenty years working as a professor and visiting lecturer in international colleges and universities including, Royal College of Art, Art Center College of Design, Tama Art University, NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Domus Academy, College for Creative Studies, Arizona State University, Lapland University, National University of Colombia, Universidad de Chile and DUOC Chile.
