
Rick Chen graduated with a Bachelor of Design from the Transportation Design program at ArtCenter in 2007. He has been working in the automotive design industry for over 17 years in both the US and China markets.During his years as a car designer, Rick was largely responsible for the 3rd-generation 2014 Acura MDX and 2nd-generation 2012 Acura NSX Concept. During the recent 8 years in China, Rick served as Design Director at GAC, Byton, Pininfarina, and NIO, leading young, talented designers to realize their design dreams in the auto industry.Rick has also previously taught ArtCenter’s Transportation Design students in their 3rd term between 2010–2014.
Now back in the US again, Rick is currently the Principal Designer/Manager at Honda R&D in Torrance and once again teaching Transportation Design in the Bachelor program.
